GhostChef community guidelines
Last updated: 23 September 2026
GhostChef is about cooking. Share recipes that others can actually make, be decent and report what is wrong.
What we like to see
- Recipes that work, with clear quantities and steps.
- Allergens mentioned, if you know them.
- Real photos of your own dish, taken live.
What is not allowed
- Hate, discrimination, bullying, threats or calls for violence.
- Sexual content or nudity.
- Violence, animal cruelty or shocking images.
- Anything related to child sexual abuse. We always report it to the police.
- Terrorism or glorifying it.
- Spam, advertising for yourself or others, deception, fake accounts or impersonation.
- Other people’s personal data, such as addresses or phone numbers, and recognisable people without their permission.
- Other people’s photos, videos or texts without rights or permission (see Copyright).
- Presenting dangerous preparation as safe, or promoting drugs or illegal products.
- Screenshots of other people’s recipes, or images from the internet posted as your own photo.
- Anything else that is illegal in Belgium or in the EU country where it can be seen.
Reporting and blocking
On every public recipe: ⋯ → Recept melden, or the button at the bottom. On a profile: Rapporteer gebruiker. Choose Auteursrecht if it is about rights. You can report the same recipe or account once, with a maximum of 7 reports per week. Without the app, report by email; see Report illegal content.
If you block someone, you no longer see each other’s recipes, including in your saved recipes, and you cannot follow each other. That person may still appear on the leaderboard. If you unblock them, the saved recipes come back.
What we do when rules are broken
Depending on how serious and how frequent it is: we refuse or hide the content, remove it, or close the account temporarily or permanently. For very serious content, such as child sexual abuse or terrorism, we close the account immediately. We email you why, unless an authority forbids it. You can reply to that email if you disagree; a person will then review the decision again.
